What we see:

• The lymphoid population is predominated by small lymphocytes with lower numbers of intermediate to large lymphocytes. Scattered plasma cells are noted.
• There are mildly increased numbers of neutrophils and moderately increased numbers of eosinophils. Rare mast cells are present.
• Interpretation: Reactive lymph node with mild neutrophilic and moderate eosinophilic inflammation
  
  

Let's talk about this case...

• This is a reactive lymph node with inflammation. The eosinophilic inflammation is significant, and given Koko's history of atopy, it is likely related. Atopy can cause reactivity and eosinophilic inflammation within peripheral lymph nodes, causing them to enlarge.
