Meet the Founders

Hi! We're Drs. Kate & Will Baker

We're a nerdy, married, pathologist-ER vet team who considers the coagulation cascade pillow talk. 

After graduating vet school together in 2012, Kate became board-certified clinical pathologist while Will became a highly skilled ER vet.

We started the Veterinary Cytology Schoolhouse in 2017 after seeing how many smart, motivated vets struggle with cytology. It didn't seem fair that vets who want to learn this skill have limited ways to do so once they're out in practice.

That's why we've dedicated the last 8 years to developing highly effective training programs for veterinarians who want to get good at cytology. 

Because we believe every veterinary practitioner deserves the opportunity to build skills they are proud of.

8 years helping vets

What started as a humble Facebook group (the Veterinary Cytology Coffeehouse) quickly turned into what VCS is today - a global community of over 75,000 veterinary professionals building their cytology skills together.

3,500+ vets trained

Thousands of vets have gone from confused to confident through our proven programs. Our extensive experience teaching in-the-trenches vets has allowed us to build highly effective programs that get vets the results they want at the microscope.
